Saturday Cat Blog 4/4/15

The kitties got a new kitty tower and they love it!  Now they don’t have to cram into the top level quite so much.  It’s good kitty times all around.

Saturday Cat Blog (11/15/14)

cats-on-the-towerThe cats are really into the tower, especially after Dr. Girlfriend moved it to a window that looks out onto the roof.  I think they’re entranced by birds who take a rest there – that wasn’t going on at the previous spot.  They’ll both snuggle up onto the top perch and just stare for hours, no matter how cramped the conditions are.  This also leads to some impromptu cleanings of one by the other.  You’d think they’d take advantage of the next level down, but I’ve NEVER seen one on the top and one on the middle level.  It’s just not done.

Pulp Friction is the Best Cat Pun EVER

What can you say about a cat scratching post called Pulp Friction? It’s awesome, that’s what! We’ve bot something of a cat theme going this week… hm. It’s probably not going anywhere – unless I get an unbelievable burst of energy and actually edit that cat video I shot several months ago… Stranger things have happened. Anyway, good job, Marketing Team – Pulp Friction is the best name for a product ever. Samuel L. Jackson would be proud.

Puttin’ on the leash

This is genius.  Sure, only the dog looks happy (the white cat looks particularity upset), but never the less, Puttin’ on the leash is still a brilliant idea.

Dogs in the Snow video

Welcome to my first video offering, Dogs in the Snow.  Here, you’ll get a simple glimpse of my Golden Retriever and Siberian Husky playing in the snow.  Not much going on here – just a few tiny edits.

I shot this on my new Canon VIXIA HF M300.  It’s incredible how tiny this camera is and the results speak for themselves.  It has pretty much everything I could want in a camcorder – it’s light weight, mic input, video light, camera flash, headphone jack – it’s pretty sweet.  This was a generous gift from my sister and brother in law.  I edited this with the software it came with (if you can call that editing), and it’s clear that the PIXELA Image Mixer software is just not up to the challenge – if you’re used to Final Cut or Adobe Premier, the primitive controls and pathetic playback abilities will make you nuts in moments.  I don’t know what I expected for free software that came with the camera, but it sucks.

This is also my first upload to YouTube – it was pretty easy.  However, if you can edit the description after you post the video, I haven’t figured out how.  Anyway, there’s more to videos to come!
