Ranking all 25 Episodes of The Simpsons Season 7

For me, episodes of The Simpsons Season 7 fall into two categories:  classic or not.  There ain’t no third direction.  Read the rest of this entry

CreativeJamie.com Channel Trailer (Youtube)

In case you didn’t know, I have a YouTube channel.  It’s been a bit quiet of late… that is, until I dropped the Will Reading trailer.  Anyway, YouTube asks that you make a trailer for your channel – I’ve made two and I’m quite proud of both of them.  Enjoy!  Read the rest of this entry

Attention Must Be Paid: @thelindsayellis (formerly aka Nostalgia Chick)

There are lots of people out there making content exclusively for the web, but there’s hardly anybody that does it as well as Lindsay Ellis.  A Channel Awesome contest to create a companion show for the Nostalgia Critic series brought her to our attention as the Nostalgia Chick, but it’s clear that Ms. Ellis has a lot more to offer us than a look back at the past – her brand of criticism not only informs, it educates – and that’s an even more rare thing than simply making quality videos.

Hence, Attention Must be Paid!  Observe:  Read the rest of this entry

Can’t Talk – Sleeping (dog blog)

Conny is unaware of the cold – I know as a Siberian Husky he’s built for it, but he just wants to sleep outside.  Sometimes he sleeps in the snow.  I understand that’s what the dogs do on the trail when they’re sledding, but it’s just hard to fathom.  I can’t stand to be outside for more than a few minutes in this weather!  He laughs at eight degrees.  As for me, I make him bring his white @ss back in the house!  “Sorry we inconvenience you with our heat and our shelter and modern living!” I tell him, but he just looks at me like I’m a moron.

He’s not wrong.

Better Watch Saul!

I think its fair to say that Better Call Saul is exceeding my expectations.  I don’t know what I expected… I guess I didn’t think it’d be as good as breaking bad.  I thought it’d take a while for them to find their way… It is and it didn’t.  The BCS team is killing it right now and they’re making it look easy. Here’s some of my favorite points and scenes from the show so far.  Read the rest of this entry

The Theory of Everything movie review

Did you see The Theory of Everything?  It’s… you know, it’s fine.

The problem with this movie is it’s engaging while being not very interesting.  Dr. Hawking is smart, funny and as far as I can tell, unkillable – a movie about the most inspiring man of our time should be amazing, not a passable character study.  Read the rest of this entry

Birdman movie review

Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) was the 2015 winner for Best Picture at the Oscars and I’m sure few are surprised.  The movie has excellent performances, directing, cinematography, lighting, screenplay, the editing is flawless, the score is amazing, sound design and mixing…  It’s a really f@cking good movie.  Here’s why. Try guessing the Top Ten Best Selling Albums of the 1990s

best-selling-albums-1990s

Having come of age in the 1990s, I thought I would be a champ at guessing the top ten best selling albums of the decade… and I failed miserably.  Pearl Jam is not in the top ten.  (Mind Blown!  They’re in the top 20.)  But when I sat back and took an objective look at the list, it all started to make sense.  Read the rest of this entry

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King – Extended Edition (movie review)

Riveting.  Thank a higher power for getting this back into the movie.

When it comes to The Lord of the Rings and the extended editions, you’ve got your The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers, and then, following behind, The Return of the King. Tolkien hated this title; it tells you what happens at the end of the story… but if he only knew how the end of the movie would be handled, he’d probably bust a pipe… or whatever dignified, older English gentlemen do when they’re outraged.  Read the rest of this entry

The Simpsons has been on for a long time…

lisas-wedding-invitation-the-simpsons

When I was a wee lad, episodes of the Simpsons that took place in the future had far off, impossible sounding dates… like 2010.  Five.  Years.  Ago.  It’s almost more than I can bear.  Read the rest of this entry
