Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 (movie review)

I really enjoyed the first Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs – interesting story, characters and themes… self obsession, greed, perception isn’t reality, even the best of intentions can have unforeseen consequences – stuff like that. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 reminds us that all life is precious.

Well, it reminds us that most life is precious.

I really enjoyed this movie. It has a fast pace, excellent jokes and a decent story line. The voice performances are fun and movie has a great look and amazing color pallet. It does push a "All life is precious" message… except it doesn’t apply to sardines. F@CK SARDINES! I guess sardines aren’t cute, or intelligent enough – that must be the problem.

Anyway, this movie is a lot of fun, despite the mixed message. Sure, it’s predictable, but it’s a movie for kids; it’s not supposed to be War and Peace. I’m giving Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 an 8 out of 10.
