Looper (movie review)
We finally watched Looper this past weekend and I must say, it was worth the wait – or rather, we waited much too long to see this. If you like your action movies accompanied by a sci-fi twist, then you’re going to want to check this flick out.
I’m sure that folks have already written anything that could be said about Looper, but I enjoyed it so much that even at such a late date, I would feel remiss if I didn’t drop a few lines about this movie. The script, directing and performances were all top-notch – I don’t remember much about the score; it may have been minimal and kinda gloomy, but that would certainly fit with the movie’s tone. I wouldn’t call this a stunt spectacular, but it’s not really that sort of movie. The setups to the payoffs in this movie are some of the best you’ll see in an action movie and I bet Christopher and Jonathon Nolan are kicking themselves for not coming up with this idea first.
Frankly, Looper was awesome, a near perfect movie. Sure, there might be a logic problem with the premise, but overall, the movie is too much fun and just a satisfying watch to let any problem like that get in your way. I’m giving Looper a 9 out of 10.
