Mixers and Movie Reviews Ep 2 Django Unchained & Hop – Skittles Vodka

I know I said Monday, but here we are, just one day late.  Episode 2 of Mixers and Movie Reviews is here!  In the spirit of spring, we’re looking at Django Unchained and Hop while drinking Skittles Vodka.  All three of these things have… something to do with spring, I’m sure.

George spells it out in the video, but here it is again anyway.  To make Skittles Vodka, you’ll need the following:

  • 5 bags of Skittles
  • 5 bowls to sort the Skittles into
  • 1 bottle of vodka per number of colors of Skittles Vodka you want to make (5 bags of skittles = 5 bottles of Vodka – if you’re hardcore, that is)

You’ll need to remove some vodka from the bottle(s) to account for the displacement.  Then, dump the skittles in, close the bottle tightly and shake vigorously for 5 minutes.  Repeat the shaking process a few times a day for 3 days and by then, the Skittles should be dissolved into the Vodka and you’re good to go.

This was filmed using a Canon VIXIA HF M300 and edited in Adobe Premiere CS 5.5.   I used an old ground row light for my key light, a 1000 LED light as George’s, and I put the a 500 LED light in the center for fill, but I didn’t have all 500 of the LED’s on.  We used a shotgun condenser mic to record us speaking on set – which you’ll note is a different set from episode 1.  I used Adobe Audition to remove the hiss from the audio, and it worked fairly well, but for some reason, the audio I washed doesn’t play on any YouTube mobile devices I’ve tested right away.  I’ve had this problem before and after a few days or so, it clears up.  I guess it’s a codec problem, but how that would be solved by me, I don’t know – YouTube figures it out eventually.  I created all of the titles in Adobe Premier, but I did some additional work in Adobe Photoshop as well.
