Ravel or Unravel?

Who let this happen?

This is the definition for ravel:
to disentangle or unravel  the threads or fibers of (a woven or knitted fabric, rope, etc.).

Now check out the definition for unravel:
to separate or disentangle the threads of (a woven or knitted fabric, a rope, etc.).

What the fuck?!?  It’s the same fucking word!  What’s with the prefix/no prefix edition?  And look at the definition for ravel – the assholes at Reference.com included unravel in it!  You can’t take the larger version of the same word and drop it in the definition!  I bet they define ‘impossible’ as “the opposite of that which is possible.”***  Assholes.

If you don’t want to go around telling people to “Please ravel the Christmas lights,” that’s fine, but let’s get rid of ravel.  Strike that archaic shit from the dictionary!

***(Oh, look, they do – I was just kidding around!  That’s so lazy!)
