wild turkeys in Wayne, NJ
These wild turkeys hang out around the campus of William Patterson University (northern New Jersey). I only had an opportunity to photograph them from out the car window; they’re pretty skittish. You’ll note that these are female turkeys – it’s the males that have all that large rear plumage – I presume that exists to attract the females, but I’m just guessing.
