Fudge Mint Cookies are Vegan, and they are awesome.  To the best of my recollection, they are fairly reminiscent of the Girl Scout cookies’ Thin Mints.  For those of you keeping score at home, we picked them up at the local Stop and Shop.

I just wanted to take a quick moment to say thanks to everyone who has been following the blog via email, Twitter, Facebook, Google+ or any of the 90 million other ways we stay in touch these days.  I really appreciate that you take time out of your day to visit the site, ‘Like’ a post, rate a post via the stars, share it on your social network, drop a comment…  or any of the 90 million other things you can do at the bottom of each post.

If you have any suggestions, questions, comments or complaints, feel free to drop a comment or send me an email.  Maybe there’s a particular type of post you’d like to see more or less of… whatever, just let me know.  I can’t promise I’ll be able to make everyone happy, but I’ll do my best to accommodate.  For example, A Fly On The Wall:  Michael Jordan And His Hitler Mustache is one of the most popular posts on the site of all time, and AFOTW is something I’ve been meaning to get back to, but I haven’t been able to find the right topic, so any suggestions would be welcomed.

Subscribe via email
This one is infallible; if you subscribe to the site via email, you’ll never miss a thing.  If you’re like me and you’re always connected to email, than this is the best way to follow the blog.  You can subscribe using any of the three buttons on the right side of this page.  They looks like this:

Twitter is another great way to follow the blog as each time a post goes live, a note with a link is sent to Twitter automatically, so this way is also rock solid.  I consider myself fairly internet savvy, and I can post messages to Twitter without a problem, but following other people has proven to be a bit difficult for me.  (I mean, I can click the ‘follow’ button without a problem, but I find the feed difficult to read.)  I know there are these things called hash tags and I should be using them for… something…  but I don’t, and I’m flat out awful at having a conversation.  I’ll try to figure that Twitter thing out at some point so I can use it more effectively.  Practice makes perfect, I suppose.

As a Gmail user, Google+ is convenient for me to use, so this is a great place to follow not necessarily the blog, but things I find on the web that I think are awesome.  Google+ isn’t perfect, but I must admit, I prefer their interface to what Facebook is using.  And as for MySpace (if you just asked someone, “What’s a ‘myspace?’” then you’re younger than me and I don’t like you as much as a I did a second ago), it looks better than it used to, but I gave up on them a long time ago, and besides, I just can’t handle managing another social media site.  I try to drop the links to new posts on Google+, but I usually forget.

Facebook kinda gets the short end of the stick – managing a Facebook Page is not like managing a Facebook Profile, so it doesn’t get as much attention as it deserves.  Like Google+, I share things here that I find on the web that are awesome.  I try to drop the links to new posts here, but I usually forget.

YouTube is another place to see the few tiny videos I’ve been able to crank out rather than using the Video category link above.  If you have a YouTube/Google account and follow the blog there, new videos will come up in your Subscriptions… you probably know all this already.

Hopefully, I’ll start posting more stuff to eBay soon.  As fair warning, it’s going to be a lot of old comic books, so I don’t blame you if that doesn’t peak your interest.  Oh, and Star Wars stuff… there was this two or three year period where I was buying Star Wars stuff and people were buying me Star Wars stuff… and it got totally out of hand.  Anyway, every little bit helps as there are tons of things I’d like to do on the blog (particularly video stuff) that I just can’t afford right now.  The website has a few costs associated with it, but until I actually start uploading video, they’re fairly minimum on an annual basis.  Still, they’re there, and they are not fun.

This post is all about numbers, but don’t let that scare you off.  I hate those smug bastards, but sometimes, simply looking them over and seeing which ones are small and which ones are big can tell us a lot.

For example, Minnesota is 21st in population in the United States with a count of 5,303,925 in 2010.  Colorado is 22nd with 5,029,196 and Missouri is 18th with 5,988,927.  But apparently, either no Republicans live there, don’t vote, or they don’t show up for elections that don’t count for anything.  Or they think the candidates suck.

That’s right, folks; apparently, the Republican Primaries in Colorado, Missouri and Minnesota not only had fairly low turnout, but they’re not awarding any delegates to the winner – so I guess all of this means nothing as the states have not awarded delegates to any of the candidates, meaning until they do, we don’t know who they’ll vote for at the Republican National Convention.  Apparently, this is all tied to these states having their elections too soon, but what this means for awarding their delegates, I don’t know, and who cares?  Nobody voted anyway.  Here are the results:

The only thing that annoys me more than the Electoral College is the way we pick candidates.  This is pathetic!  In Colorado, a total of 66,027 showed up.  In Minnesota, which we already noted has slightly more residents than Colorado, only 48,695 could muster up the courage to hit the polls and in Missouri, 251,868  got those classy “I voted!” stickers.  Now that’s a lot more than Colorado or Minnesota, but as I always like to point out, Brooklyn has a population of 2,504,700, so I don’t see any of these guys doing very well in a race for Borough President.

Yet the most shocking thing of all is that Rick Santorum swept the day!  And, when you google his name, spreadingsantorum.com is now downgraded to the 4th option in natural search results, so things are all coming up Rick!

Your damn right I +1'd it. Man, Google - that is one awkward expression you've got there.

So I guess Santorum is the latest flavor of the month in the “Anybody But Mitt Romney” parade and as Newt Gingrich didn’t finish any better than third in all three races, he is of course not dropping out.  Why would he drop out now?  He only failed to capture anything worth reporting in the state where the most people showed up to vote in an election where you essentially just had to show up and shake hands with the 12 people voting at each precinct…

Well, I guess it’s time for Mitt Romney to tear into Rick Santorum with a wave of negative ads from his Super PAC that he can’t control, so get ready, Maine – you’ve got some commercials coming your way concerning why a frothy mixture won’t make a good president.

I did some quick research, but I found the product I envisioned was not necessarily in resistance.  A temporary solution was necessary and so, like with the Air Defender™, I turned to my old friend, paper board.

As we all know, when tray tables are in their locked and upright position, they are sealed tightly to the seated they are affixed to.  My idea was to simply slip a length of paper board between the tray table and the seat, lock the tray table shut and finally, zip tie my phone to the exposed papler left protruding against the backside of the table.

So, I took this, stuck my phone in it, completed the procedure described above, and I was in business: the Tray Table Phone Friend™ was born!  (The name just rolls right off your tongue.)

I come from a family of inquisitive people; on some level, we’re always testing via the scientific method.  Just this past weekend, my youngest niece posed this question:  if left to her own devices, how many kisses would be included in a greeting from my golden retriever?  My niece hypothesized that she would receive 100 kisses and my family went to the lab for testing.

We don’t have a lot of data, but when it comes to this particular Golden Retriever, it’s 47.  That’s forty-seven kisses hello.

The traffic was so bad this morning that I was able to photograph it.  I’ve never just sat in one place for so long that I was able to just relax, put the car in park and snap a few pictures.

All of the sound walls in my area have this strange design on them; I don’t know what it’s supposed to look like, but I know what it does look like. Any high school health student knows what it looks like. You have to wonder who came up with this design and what official approved it. I don’t know the answer, but I would guess it was a man and his last name was “Skeet.”

I don’t mind graffiti, but lazy graffiti is something I have no tolerance for!  “Hello” – that’s it?  That’s all you’ve got?  It’s not even written in a way that is especially interesting to look at!  And I took this photo at a college, not at a high school!  The best possible scenario is that it’s a reference to the Seinfeld episode The Voice, but that seems pretty far fetched – especially since there’s only one O and no “La la la!”

"Psh... I'm the REAL Winter Soldier!"

Since I’ve been contributing at AComicbookBlog.com, I’ve been reviewing crap – at least for the most part.  But now, I get to talk about something awesome:  Winter Soldier!  Ed Brubaker’s one of my favorite writers, so the fact that he’s got another book out and I get to review it is awesome.

And speaking of my favorite writers, I’ve also taken over the duties of reviewing X-Factor, written by Peter David, who I had the good fortune to interview last year.
